In the most recent episode of ‘Toughest Place To Be…’ produced by Motive Television for RTÉ One, we meet Dublin Bus driver Christy Carey, who swaps his number 27 route for the chaos and colour of Kathmandu, Nepal.
The IFTA Award nominated factual entertainment format, follows the story of an ordinary Irish worker who leaves their day job behind to travel abroad to experience their job in some of the toughest conditions on the planet.
IFTN talked about the filming of the 'Toughest Place To Be…A Bus Driver’ episode with Executive Producer and joint Managing Director of Motive Television Anne Mc Loughlin.
“The Toughest Place To Be shoot in Nepal was physically demanding as we filmed in the rainy season, so this added to the treacherous conditions for our novice Dublin Bus Driver Christy Carey and for our cameraman Ken O'Mahony.
“However, the host family and the Nepalese people really made Christy feel welcome and at home, so this really added to the experience for Christy and the crew in general,” she said.
The location for the filming of the ‘Toughest Place To Be…A Bus Driver’ episode is Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. It sits in the shadow of Everest and the Himalayas, and has a notorious reputation for treacherous roads and perilous driving conditions.
