10 Awards for RTÉ productions at IFTA Film & Drama Awards

RTÉ television shows, ‘Love/Hate’, ‘Charlie’, ‘Vikings’, ‘The Fall’, ‘One Million Dubliners’, animated short, ‘Somewhere Down the Line’ and documentary, ‘In A House That Ceased to Be’ won a total of 10 IFTA awards at the 12th annual ceremony in the Mansion House on Sunday night.

Gangster drama ‘Love/Hate’ won three awards in total in the Television Drama category including Best Drama sponsored by the BAI, a fifth consecutive award for Best Script for Stuart Carolan and Best Actress in a Lead Role for Charlie Murphy.

Speaking about RTÉ’s success, Glen Killane, Managing Director, RTÉ Television, said: “I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to all our winners at Sunday night’s awards. As the largest supporter of Ireland’s independent television sector, it is really satisfying to receive recognition from the industry for such a diverse selection of great television which has been enjoyed by the Irish public on both RTÉ One and RTÉ2 over the past year. It also underlines the quality of what we continue to produce in Ireland which can more than hold its own on the world stage.”

  • Actress In a Supporting Role in Drama: Aisling Franciosi - The Fall Series 2
  • Director Drama: Ciaran Donnelly – ‘Vikings’
  • Make Up & Hair Sponsored by MAC: Tom McInnerney and Dee Corcoran – ‘Vikings’
  • Editing: Emer Reynolds – ‘One Million Dubliners’
  • Animation Short: ‘Somewhere Down the Line’ - Julien Regnard
