Filming is currently underway in Albuquerque, New Mexico on John Michael McDonagh’s new film ‘War on Everyone’.
‘War on Everyone’ stars Michael Peña and Alexander Skarsgård as corrupt cops looking to blackmail and generally stitch up all the felons they cross paths with. Unluckily for them, they run up against someone who’s even more dangerous and unscrupulous than they are. Or is he?
Irish actor David Wilmot – who has previously starred in McDonagh films ‘The Guard’ and Calvary’ – is also slated to star here, alongside Theo James, Tessa Thompson, Caleb Landry Jones and Paul Reiser.
Speaking about the project, McDonagh said: ‘It gives me great pleasure to declare ‘War on Everyone’ with my fellow combatants, Michael Peña and Alexander Skarsgård. We look forward to the battles ahead, and we will go on with a spirit that fears nothing. That’s Homer, by the way.’
The film is writer/director John Michael McDonagh’s first feature set outside Ireland with ‘The Guard’ and ‘Calvary’ both shot in Galway and Sligo, respectively. He won three IFTA Awards for his work on ‘The Guard’ (Rising Star, Best Script and Best Director) and one for ‘Calvary’ (Best Script) with both films picking up Best Film.
The BFI Film Fund are providing funds with Reprisal Films and Head Gear Films producing. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and Icon Films have secured distribution, with the latter releasing the film in Ireland and the UK, with the film expected to hit screens next year.
