Treasure Entertainment have announced that they will produce ‘Bolt’, the film adaptation of Amy Huberman’s 2012 novel ‘I Wished For You’.
The first draft of the script has been completed by Huberman who is also slated to play the lead. ‘Bolt’ is about a young woman that deserts her husband in a bid to escape the responsibilities that adulthood brings.
Casting is expected to be completed by the end of the year and the shoot is tentatively slated to begin next year in Ireland.
Producer with Treasure Entertainment Rebecca O’Flanagan said:Obviously the project is still at an early stage of development with Amy having just delivered a first draft of the script. We are only now embarking on the process of further packaging the project and the path of project development can be long and bumpy! But we are very excited to be working with Amy to move the project forward. She is such a smart, funny and hard-working writer that we have high ambitions for the project in terms of its appeal to both talent and audience.
Treasure Entertainment have previously produced films such as ‘I Went Down’ and this year’s IFTA-nominated film ‘The Stag’, which also starred Amy Huberman.
’Bolt’ has an estimated budget of €2 million euro while €20,000 euro has already been secured in development funding by the Irish Film Board.
