This is a long, thin strip of old Parkland running by the River Lee and the Carrigrohane Road near Cork County Hall and the UCC Sports Grounds. It seems a little forgotten, but its highlight is the river walk, which offers peacefulness and some fine views up to the North side of the City; particularly of the vast partly derelict St. Anne’s Hospital complex, which is reputed to have the longest building in Ireland.

There are also great views of the old Water Works across the river – a well preserved Victorian red brick building & chimney, which are very photogenic standing as they do above an old weir in the river. Other vies include County Hall, base for the County Council, which is one of the highest & most prominent buildings in Cork.
