The Coillte estate encompasses 7% of the land cover of Ireland and provides a stunning variety of locations with varied woodland settings and properties with features such as open space, water and old buildings. Coillte has numerous properties in County Wicklow including:

Kindlestown

Kindlestown is situated to the east of the Kings River Valley on the extensive coastal plain that stretches from the Wicklow Mountains to the sea. There are 35 hectares of mixed woodland within a network of roads and trails as well as a car park and viewing points.

Djouce

This extensive area of forest, dominated to the south west by the impressive Djouce mountain lies within the unbroken expanse of high and barren moor land that stretches from Dublin to the south-easterly borders of Co.Wicklow and is on the periphery of what was once the Royal Oak forest of Glencree.

Baravore

A breath-taking valley beside Fraughan Rock Glen that has been used in in several productions. Features of the property include: a river, cultural features, road, mountain and waterfalls.

Avondale Forest Park

Avondale Forest Park has much to offer – an estate of just under 200 ha including open parkland, mature broadleaf and conifer forests and riverside walks. It includes many buildings including the historic home of Charles Stewart Parnell.

The Devil’s Glen

The Devil’s Glen boasts a dramatic landscape that was fashioned at the end of the Ice Age when the melt waters of the ice sheet created the valley. The resultant gorge affords a swift descent for the Vartry River as it makes its way from the Vartry Reservoir to nearby Ashford village. The site hosts a mixture of broadleaf and conifer forest with fine stands of beech, Spanish chestnut and ash.

Coillte properties in County Wicklow have been used as locations for productions including Vikings and Camelot as well as numerous short films and advertisements.
