Cork’s very own San Francisco! St Patrick's Hill is just off MacCurtain Street on the North Side of the city. An incredibly steep hill, it has some classic views over the City, especially as it looks directly down to the main shopping Street of Patrick Street. The visual effect of the Hill cannot be overstated for film makers and it also has some fine period buildings both on the hill and at the top – ‘The Ridge’ as it’s known. The top of the Hill also offers some of the best panoramic views of the City; particularly of Shandon Tower and the North Side. Driving up & walking down is recommended!

Just beside Patrick’s Hill, there are two fantastic Industrial Era red brick Victorian Streets back to back in an area with genteel housing on one side and inner city council estates on the other! Rathmore Terrace could be Manchester or Liverpool any day, and is a great place for cheating scenes set in these cities plus, of course, doing dramas and Industrial Era period pieces. The fact that two streets are together and open-ended make them versatile filming locations.
