A classical 1960’s/70’s Tower Block that dominates the skyline in the West of the City, County Hall was a concrete monolith that attracted a fair amount of criticism for its architecture and lack of aesthetics until it was completely revamped recently. Now it has attracted praise for its pleasant, modern airy feel to the inside. The outside has improved immensely too, but there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s a giant Tower block in an otherwise low lying City. Outdone for the title of the tallest building in the County by the new Elysian Tower, it still has amazing views right across the City.
