The vast majority of Industry in Cork nowadays is a mixture of Light Engineering, Pharmaceuticals, Hi-Tec production and Services. The largest concentration of factory units is based here on Little Island in East Cork, which comprises two main Industrial estates; East Gate Park and harbour View Park.
Despite looking like many modern Industrial Estates with their box-like Units, Little Island has some interesting buildings for the film maker. There are some great architect designed Futuristic and Deco/Nouveau style buildings, quiet streets and a neat appearance. It’s close proximity to the City (15 mins. drive max) and good road links make this a useful location for filming.
