Comic tale of two thieves who are observed and subsequently apprehended by a tramp. He follows them to the border and inadvertently takes a suitcase of jewels in exchange for his own, which contains 'magic' cough medicine. Meanwhile the two detectives on the case are totally ineffectual being more concerned with seducing the inn keepers daughter.
