This film is set in Dublin in the 1960's and tells the story of eight year old Harry Cronin who is convinced that he is from the planet Mercury.
Harry believes that his real parents live on Mercury and have placed him with an Earth family as a means to study life as we know it. Harry spends his nights at his bedroom window using a torch to send reports back to Mercurian craft. His days are spent in a fantastically surreal childhood world, where school is endured, playing is a matter of life and death and screenings of 'The Adventures of Flash Gordon' at the local cinema can seem more real than day to day life.
