Donít Go Set for October US Release as IFC Films Acquires North American Rights
27 Sep 2018 :
David Gleesonís mystery thriller ĎDonít Goí is set for a US release on October 26th following its acquisition by IFC Films.

Accompanied by Fastnet Films’ ‘Black 47’, IFC Film will also release the film on demand across North America this autumn.

David Gleeson (‘Tolkien’) directs a script he co-wrote with the BAFTA-winning Ronan Blaney.  Nathalie Lichtenhaeler of Wide Eye Films produces, with other crew including DoP James Mather, production designer Tracey O’Hanlon and editor Isobel Stephenson.

The film stars Australian actress Melissa George (‘Gray’s Anatomy’) and American actor Stephen Dorff (‘Blade’). The cast also includes Simon Delaney (‘The Good Wife’), Aoibhinn McGinnity (‘Love/Hate’), Laurence O’Fuarain (‘The Limit Of’) and Charlotte Bradley (‘Veronica Guerin’).

Dorff executive produced the film with Michael Helfant and Bradley Gallo from Amasia Entertainment, which co-financed along with Screen Ireland, BAI, Northern Ireland Screen and Section 481 tax incentives. Production facilities were provided by Danú Media and post-production took place at EGG post Production in Dublin.

Speaking about the acquisition, Producer Nathalie Lichtenthaeler said:

“IFC’s hugely impressive record of reaching large audiences with prestigious, thought-provoking films makes them the perfect partner to bring this beautiful, unsettling, genre-bending supernatural thriller to U.S. screens. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to showcase our work and look forward to partnering with the talented team at IFC as we roll out Don’t Go to audiences across the country.”
Devastated by his daughter's death in a terrible accident, ‘Don’t Go’ follows Ben Slater (played by Dorff) who becomes convinced that he can bring his daughter back through a recurring dream. But is it just a dream? Or is Ben losing his mind?

‘Don’t Go’ marks Gleeson’s return to directing duties following ‘Cowboys and Angels’ (2003) and ‘The Front Line’ (2006).

His upcoming project ‘Tolkien’ from Fox Searchlight and Chernin Entertainment is currently in post-production and stars Nicholas Hoult playing the role of ‘Lord of the Rings’ writer, JRR Tolkien.
