Zanzibar Films Set To Shoot New Feature Film In Sligo

Zanzibar Films has announced that they will be filming their new feature film ‘Royally Ever After’ in Sligo.

Female director, Lee Friedlander (‘Babysitters Black Book’, ‘Double Daddy’, ‘A Giftwrapped Christmas’, and ‘Killer Coach’) will be tasked with bringing to life the screen play ‘Royally Ever After’ developed and produced  by  William Greenblatt (‘DA’, ‘Judgement In Berlin’ and ‘She Stood Alone: The Tailhook Scandal’)

Kat Green  of  Wonderfly Films (‘Nearlyweds’, Disney’s ‘American Dragon: Jake Long’)  and Lisa McLaughlin will associate produce. McLaughlin, who hails from Donegal, spent many years running the Irish Film Festival in LA, and has worked in Ireland and US on a broad number of productions. 

The production team are said to be excited about bring the American production to the wonderful location of Markee Castle, Co.Sligo, on the West coast of Ireland.

The story follows - ‘Sara DeMarco, a 30-something, New Jersey elementary teacher who has found her own “Prince Charming”.  A handsome, too-good-to-be-true writer, DeMarco falls instantly for the foreigner visiting America from abroad. Sara is in for a couple of big surprises, however: an unexpectedly heartfelt proposal of marriage...and the revelation that her boyfriend is actually Prince Daniel, heir to the throne of the little-known monarchy of St. Ives.  But love will always find a way -- and as with every good fairytale, this one ends with a truly satisfying, Happily Ever After.’

The production team includes award winning crewmembers such as Seamus Deasy, Director of Photography; Derek Wallace, Production Designer; Tiziana Corvisieri, Costume Designer; Line producer, Des Martin & Irish Co-producer Edwina Forkin of Zanzibar Films (‘Sanctuary’)

The production recently announced an open casting call to the people of Sligo and Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. Male and Females of all types and ethnicities are welcome to apply. The extras must be available for the shoot which takes place in Enniskerry March 12-16th and in Sligo March 19-30th. The chosen will be paid for their participation.
