Production Commences on ‘Highway’
15 Jul 2017 :
Alexandra McGuinness directing from her script and Rippleworld produce.

This is Alexandra McGuinness' first film since her debut ‘ Lotus Eaters’ which premiered at Tribeca in 2011.

Filming is underway in New Mexico this week. The film stars Lucy Fry, Eiza González, Josh Harnett, and Blake Berris.

Mairead McIvor is the editor, and all post production will take place at EGG in Dublin.

‘Highway’ is produced by Anna O’Malley, Dominic Wright and Eamonn Cleary, and it is being financed by GCI Film, the Irish Film Board and Cofiloisirs, as well as through Irish Section 481 and NM tax credits. Jacqueline Kerrin is executive producer for Ripple World Pictures, alongside Adam Stanhope and Graham Appleby for GCI Film.

Dominic and Jacqueline at Rippleworld told IFTN this week, "We're really delighted to be in production with Alexandra McGuinness' on her atmospheric script ‘Highway’. Lucy Fry and Eiza González are the perfect lead cast along with Josh, Sheila and Antonia and a fantastic local supporting cast. The desert setting of New Mexico has always been an integral part of Alexandra's original story about missing people in rural areas. The shoot is happening in the US and all post at EGG Post Production in Dublin. The Irish Film Board's support of Irish filmmakers to tell to tell their stories no matter where they are set is key to building our Irish film presence on the world stage and enabled the film to happen. We are also happy to be working with GCI Film who have been extremely supportive of the project throughout. We are looking forward to bringing ‘Highway’ to international audiences in 2018."
