The VFX Association Ireland has announced the appointment of Jim Duggan as the new chairman of the board.
Established by Irelands largest VFX suppliers, Windmill Lane, Screen Scene, Egg& Piranha Bar, the VFXAI was set up to promote Ireland nationally and internationally as a VFX centre of excellence and a digital production destination with talent and scale.
Speaking about the appointment, newly appointed Chairman Jim Duggan said:
“I am delighted to take on this position; it’s obviously something that’s close to my heart. Alongside my colleagues in VFXAI I look forward to increasing the profile of both the VFXAI and its member companies at home and in the international marketplace”
Established in 2015 VFXAIs role is to increase the international profile of the Irish VFX industry. During that time VFXAI had input into the initial revision of the Section 481 Tax incentive making it more VFX and Post Production friendly. VFXAI has also been in dialogue with training and third level bodies ensuring training and apprenticeship schemes are industry relevant.
“Between the 32% tax incentive, the award winning talent and infrastructure, Ireland has a fantastically compelling offering for international studios and VFX producers” continued Jim Duggan , “VFXAI will be working hard to ensure they continue to utilise this super package and Irish companies continue to shine in the international marketplace.”
