Call for Submissions: Docs in Thessaloniki 2018
21 Nov 2017 :
Docs in Thessaloniki takes place on March 2-6, 2018 in connection with the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival and market. The pitching forum, festival and market form a great opportunity to develop your project, see films and meet international financiers in a creative and constructive environment during springtime in Greece.

Docs in Thessaloniki consists of a five-day program, where 21 selected documentary projects will be developed, re-written and pitched to a panel of international financiers. The pitching session is followed by individual meetings between pitchers and financiers for in-depth discussions about future collaborations. For a selected group of top-projects the new outreach programme will offer pitchers an opportunity to develop their outreach strategy, optimise distribution plans and enhance audience engagement. The unique Docs in Thessaloniki 'Digital Extension' makes the pitched projects even more accessible to financiers than ever before.

Deadline for submitting your project is on January 5, 2018.

In order to submit a project for pitching at Docs in Thessaloniki, send a 2-page description of your documentary project in English.Applications accompanied by visual material are preferred, either as material already shot for the submitted project or as a previous work. Before submitting, applicants are asked to read the Docs in Thessaloniki submission guidelines and especially the section "How to Participate" which can be found on their website via the following link:http://edn.network/activities/edn-activities-2018/docs-in-thessaloniki-2018/

Participating without a project

If you do not have a project ready to pitch, you can still take part in Docs in Thessaloniki. There are a number of seats available for participants without a project. These participants will take part in the full Docs in Thessaloniki program on equal terms with the pitching participants. The only difference is not having a concrete project developed and pitched.

Docs in Thessaloniki is organized by EDN – European Documentary Network in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival-Images of the 21st Century. Docs in Thessaloniki is supported by the Creative Europe program of The European Union.
