21 Nov 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
The Fyzz Facility has announced that Michael Lennox’s debut feature, ‘A Patch of Fog’, will start principal photography in Northern Ireland this weekend on Sunday, 23rd November.

The psychological thriller sees a celebrated novelist and TV personality find his reputation on the line and his life invaded by a lonely security guard when caught shoplifting. The screenplay, written by Michael McCartney and John Cairns was developed through Northern Ireland Screen’s New Talent Focus scheme.

The film stars Stephen Graham (‘Gangs of New York’, ‘This is England’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’), Conleth Hill (‘Suits’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yemen’), Arsher Ali (‘Four Lions’, ‘The Missing’, ‘Complicit’) and Ian McElhinney (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘The Fall’).

The film is directed by Michael Lennox, a Belfast-based first-time feature film director, whose short film ‘Back of Beyond’ was nominated for best short film at the European Film Awards. The short won awards at the Locarno International Film Festival and at the Royal Society of Television Awards.

It was also recently announced that Lennox's short film 'Boogaloo and Graham' has been shortlisted for an Academy Award.

‘A Patch of Fog’ is produced by Robert Jones (‘The Usual Suspects’), Wayne Marc Godfrey (‘Cake’) and David Gilbery (‘Bone Tomahawk’) for The Fyzz Facility. The crew includes DoP Matthias Pilz, production designer David Craig (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Dracula Untold’), editor Livia Serpa, costume designer Hazel Webb Crozier and line producer Katy Jackson (‘The Survivalist’).

‘A Patch of Fog’ will shoot entirely in Northern Ireland with funding from The Fyzz Facility, the Northern Ireland Screen Fund supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and the BFI.
