‘In A House That Ceased To Be’ to premiere at IFI Stranger Than Fiction Film Festival
19 Sep 2014 : Seán Brosnan
‘In A House That Ceased To Be’ will have its World Premiere at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin on Saturday, September 27th at 8pm as part of the IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival.

The documentary deals with the emotional trauma suffered by Christina Noble, founder of the globally recognised ‘Christina Noble Children’s Foundation’, as she recants a childhood that seen her separated from her siblings and placed into an orphanage run by the Catholic Church. It was here that she was falsely informed that her brother and two sisters were dead. With her siblings scattered around the globe and separated for 53 years, the film asks if Christina can put the family back together. It also offers a glimpse into Christina’s personal life, her love of children and the hardships of Mongolia and Vietnam where she chooses to work.

‘In A House That Ceased To Be’ is directed by Ciarín Scott. It was co-produced by Paul Duane and Rex Bloomstein, with the support of the Irish Film Board and RTÉ. The DOP for the project was Steve O’ Reilly with Tony Cranstoun serving as editor.

Filming took place over a five-year period in Ireland, Vietnam, Mongolia, Dubai, the USA and the UK.

Philip Boucher-Hayes will introduce and conduct a post-screening Q&A session with director Ciarín Scott, Christina Noble and her brother Sean.

Tickets are on sale now and can be bought in person at the IFI Box Office, or online
