Expressions of Interest sought for Audiovisual Content Dedicated Studio Infrastructure
20 Jun 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
The Irish Film Board in conjunction with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht have announced that they are seeking expressions of interest from promoters, owners and franchisees in relation to the provision of dedicated audiovisual content studio facilities in Ireland, including sound stages and related structures.

No decision has as yet been made about government initiatives in this area. According to James Hickey, Chief Executive of the IFB, “The seeking of expressions of interest is intended to gather information from interested parties in order to inform government about the potential availability of, and private sector support for, new dedicated audio visual content studio facilities additional to what is available at present.”

Expressions of Interest should include details of the location and size of sound studios and related infrastructure with a focus on a sound stage or sound stages of 25,000sqft to 50,000sqft. Expressions of Interest should be accompanied by a schedule and business plan for the construction and operation of the studio facilities, and should also include indicative private sector funding models and, if applicable, an outline of any government initiatives which might be relevant to the proposed project.

After the Expressions of Interest are reviewed and considered, initiatives (if any) by IFB and/or the government in relation to the development of dedicated audiovisual content studio infrastructure will be announced publically in due course. Interested persons will then be in a position to make such further applications and submissions as are appropriate to the initiatives which are announced.

Expressions of Interest should be forwarded by email to submissions@irishfilmboard.ie for the attention of James Hickey/Teresa McGrane and should be received no later than Friday 11th July 2014.

All submissions will be kept confidential by IFB and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Expressions of Interest will not be returned to the submitters.
