The BAI has announced the 2014 application deadlines to the Sound & Vision II funding scheme, with the first approaching on 6th February - and public consultation for Sound & Vision III remaining open until 8th January.
2014 will be the final year of Sound & Vision II, with its successor scheme to come into effect from January 2015, based on recommendations that emerged from a statutory review that took place in June.
The draft document for Sound & Vision III is currently available to view on the BAI Future website - with suggestions and recommendations as to how it can be improved being accepted from members of the public until 12 noon on 8th January.
There will be three rounds of Sound & Vision II during 2014 – with €4.75m allocated to two rounds, which are dedicated to TV and radio production, and €1m for the third, earmarked for animation and education projects.
At the launch of the public consultation last month, BAI Chief Executive Michael O’Keeffe praised the contribution of earlier Sound & Vision schemes which have been responsible for allocating approximately €117.6m to over 2,000 radio and TV projects since 2005.
The 2014 closing dates for Sound & Vision II are:
6th February: Open Round - decisions in May.
12th June: Open Round - decisions in September.
2nd October: Targeted Round (Animation and Education) - decisions in December
