About the Role:

This is an exciting role for a Digital Platforms Manager to join VMTV. This role will build relationships and coordinate between vendors that cover the delivery of web and app development, hosting, live stream & catch-up video and ad serving. Working alongside other teams, this role will define and own the development roadmap for VMTV’s web and app properties. The Digital Platforms Manager will oversee and be the escalation point for all digital related infrastructure while also being responsible for the overall user experience of VMTV web and app properties.

Working alongside our technical team members, the Digital Platforms Manager will ensure video based workflows are as efficient as possible and also ensure all content protection requirements are adhered to. This role will also partner with our insights team to ensure best possible insights are being gathered from all digital properties while always looking for ways to improve.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

• Pro-actively drive, manage and lead the digital platforms vendors and technical infrastructure for VM Television, including usage projection, SLA contracts and technical integrations (Web, API & CMS development, Automation, Mobile, Catch Up, Live Stream etc)
• Lead the VMTV First party digital platform development agenda, including roadmap definition and delivery, integration/vendor coordination and drive improvement in analytics development - work with insight and development partners to deliver centralised analytics platform.
• Working with key internal stakeholders, be the primary technical lead for product strategy, and provide input re roadmap construction, business cases, product research, new feature, UX & platform development.
• Champion the most efficient CMS development and maintenance, third party delivery, Automation, API’s.
• Minimise error and down time performance across all distribution platforms.
• Expansion of the VMTV Live Streaming and On-Demand  proposition to underpin the achievement of revenue budget.
• Delivery of detailed project roadmap and plans, quarterly in advance.
• Pro-active management of key vendors to optimise performance, the development agenda and achieve agreed project delivery deadlines.
• Advance the people engagement agenda.
• Ensure all processes are optimised and continuously improved.
• Deliver an optimised operating infrastructure with zero down time and zero ‘spike’ outages on Player application.
• Actively drive delivery of all projects and vendors as agreed via a project management office process and prioritise projects as required.
• Deliver Live streaming and On-Demand product development and delivery roadmap.
• Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
• Work closely with commercial lead / VMS / IT and content teams to ensure delivery of commercial business requirements, as agreed.
• Lead key future revenue driving technical development initiatives, focussed on ad features and inter-operability of multiple VMTV On Demand and streaming platforms.
• Work with Virgin Media legal and privacy teams to ensure that all legal requirements are met in relation to user privacy.

Skills & Expertise:

• A relevant degree
• 5 years + digital platforms and CMS experience
• Consistent record of delivering projects on time, growing the user base and the successful leadership and management of 3rd party vendors
• In-depth knowledge of on-demand delivery platforms, programmatic practises, the digital media market, product offerings, a deep knowledge of data development tools
• Ability to communicate, analyse, develop and document technical requirements and action / delivery plans 
• Comfortable building and developing relationships with both the business and clients
• Experience working in a fast paced organisation, driving multiple priorities and ensuring deadlines are consistently met
