Motherland - a creative production and post-production business are seeking a special entrepreneurial talent for a newly created Group Head of Production Role who will oversee all aspects of production from feature film to commercial and content. 

Motherland is an award winning and ambitious Irish production company. Producing commercials, content, films, music videos and documentaries. We are experienced producers, directors and editors and work with numerous high profile brands and agencies. We create everything from international brand campaigns to integrated and digital content. Recently claiming the Kinsale Shark Production Company of the Year award. 

The role demands an entrepreneurial, commercially driven and accountable group head who can deliver the strategic, creative and commercial agenda of the production side of the business. She or he - will hold accountability for the growth and health of the production discipline and team, while upholding the ambition and values of the group. 

This position requires the capability and appetite to identify and convert profitable new business opportunities with new and existing clients locally, and in time internationally. She / he will have a valuable voice and perspective on the industry, the future of talent, content and advertising. They must also be determined to maximise the value of our work and think entrepreneurially. 

She / he will have considerable production company experience, bringing solid, established relationships with music reps, commissioners, agency producers, creatives and ECDs. She / he will need to have a keen interest in the production process, with a real desire to engage with the creative side of the job, all topped by a sharp eye for new talent and opportunities. 

The successful candidate will have the following expertise: 

  • A natural leader, great communicator and able to handle stress in a high-pressure environment 
  • Extensive experience in the production field across a variety of work types, including a in-depth of experience of managing large, complexand technical productions, together with first-hand knowledge of post-production processes 
  • Capable of balancing high-level day-to-day direction of the group’s work, alongside the pursuit of opportunities to deliver our growth plan 
  • Create a team dynamic that people want to be part of because of your leadership, advocacy and direction of the practice and team. 
  • Bring together the producers into one working team across commercial, content, film & music projects. 
  • Work hand-in hand with the Group MD to identify opportunities for cost efficiency in our overhead and business processes 
  • Work with the Group MD and Head of Post Production to build our ambitious collective of ‘benched’ talent around the world 
  • You’ll sit in the senior leadership team and be responsible for operational strategies and the excellent delivery of all of our work. 
  • You will be at home responding to briefs, RFPs, pitches, treatments and production proposals at a senior level. 
  • Uncover opportunities and grow business through thought leadership, client/category expertise and consistent delivery of world class work.
