FX ARTIST

Windmill Lane VFX is looking for an experienced FX artist to work with our VFX team on a variety of particle, procedural, and dynamics FX on upcoming feature and television projects.

If destruction, fire, smoke, liquid, dust, particles, and simulations are your thing, and you like a creative challenge, then we’d love to hear from you.

Houdini expertise would be a preference, but if you have strong FX skills in Maya or C4D, we don’t mind what tools you prefer as long as you can create interesting, compelling and realistic FX.

Generalist skills and experience particularly in lighting, look dev and concept would be a bonus.

Requirements

• Expert-level Houdini artist preferred, although a similar capacity in alternative applications will also be considered.
• An exceptional creative eye.
• Good communication, collaboration and organisational skills
• Demonstrable capacity for problem solving and ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• You must be able to take and share direction and feedback well, demonstrate initiative, versatility and resourcefulness and have a positive attitude.
• Experience working with smaller creative teams a plus.
• Experience with other applications, particularly Maya a plus.
• A strong understanding of VFX workflows and methodologies in both CG and comp.
• Working knowledge of Shotgun and a willingness to help improve and develop workflows.

About us

We are part of a busy content creation, VFX, audio, and post-production studio working on a range of film, TV, and advertising projects in Dublin, Ireland.

We are currently working remotely and ideally would prefer if you are, or could be Dublin-based in the future. We love and value a studio environment, although hybrid and remote working solutions will always be considered.
