In house Counsel required for Brown Bag Films animation studio, Smithfield, Dublin.

This is a 12-month Fixed-Term contract, onsite in our Dublin studios.

At Brown Bag Films we live by our motto We Love Animation.

We also love teams that make great animation & one of our key support teams in house is now looking to find their newest colleague.

We are looking for a PQE qualified in-house Counsel/Solicitor to join our legal department & ensure the studio continues to have the best in house legal supports and expertise. You will get to work cross-functionally over areas such as development, production, post-production and corporate affairs.

This role offers an experienced Solicitor/In house Counsel the opportunity to do something different in an exciting and growing arena. Whether you come from practice, or have past experience as an inhouse Counsel, this role will offer the challenge of working with the Animation, Film and Media industry in Ireland, and specifically what it means to work with major clients & partners of global repute while handling all legal requirements for Ireland and UK studios.

Key Responsibilities

Are you looking to step away from a stuffy legal office and move somewhere that you can:

Bring your dog to work or enjoy the studio dogs who come to work with us every day

Work in a highly creative environment with artists who have created and been part of major children’s animation series and features

Become involved in our many committees including Social, Charity, Health and Well Being and our Creative Councils

Take part in-studio events and days out. From go-karting to charity boxing matches, to haunted house tours, charity cycles across the country, in-studio massages to sushi or pizza with payday drinks once a month – loving animation means loving our crew.

Attend end of season wrap parties & get involved in new projects, handling key agreements and documentation related to new shows, existing shows & all the highly significant requirements that you will help drive in between.

These are day to day parts of our culture here in Brown Bag Films – to take a glimpse of our studios you can sneak a peek here:

Appreciation for GDPR, strong experience with drafting contracts and the key soft skills to promote collaboration & teamwork in house will all be strongly valued in this role.

It will suit an individual who is a strong communicator who also appreciates the power of the face to face conversation.

You will be a team player, a hand that aims to support with utmost efficiency and forward planning, not to mention exceptional attention to detail. You will be keen to act as a key legal voice for the studio.
