Boulder Media requires a Production Supervisor
Role: Production Supervisor
Reporting to: Producer
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the general supervision, timely performance and deliveries of all productions.
The role requires leadership on occasion but also diplomacy, motivation and respect of a small team of committed production management personnel who thrive best on a system of 'controlled autonomy'.
The role forms part of a small 'Producer Group' comprising Producer, Production Supervisor and Supervisor Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
STATUS & TRACKING
- collate the Production Manager's (PM's) status and projection reports, ensure their accuracy and publish to the Producer, General Manager and studio files.
- publish status reports in pdf form every Monday and print to the studio file for record.
- The PMs have direct responsibility that all tracking and status records are up to date but the Production Supervisor will check periodically to ensure accuracy.
PROJECTING FUTURE STATUS
- review status and project future progress with the PMs and Producer
- advise the Producer, GM and PMs where you see upcoming problems and play a key part in finding appropriate solutions.
DRIVE OUTCOMES
- implement with the PMs adjustments to staffing, outputs or other crew efficiencies to ensure deadlines are met.
- monitor any specific production from time on a more day to day basis where there are difficulties or compressed schedules or any other circumstances that may threaten deliveries.
TROUBLESHOOTING & POLICING
- The role is highly practical, wide-ranging and may require a hands-on approach.
- with the Producer, PMs and Pipe-Line Manager, ensure that all crew follow approved documented procedures for all steps of the production process.
SCHEDULE REVISIONS & CTCs
- ensure the PMs update schedules where required.
- ensure that all schedules have a corresponding and correct Cost To Complete as approved by Producer & General Manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- At least 5 years producing or line producing experience in animation
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with senior management level
- Experience of running multiple productions would be an advantage.
- The ideal candidate will have experience of production status reporting, scheduling and projecting and cost reporting.
- Technical knowledge of the animation pipeline process would be an advantage.
