The FX Technical Director is primarily responsible for generating and delivering the FX requirements for a project. This includes, but is not limited to, rigid body dynamics, particle effects and fluid, cloth and fur simulations as outlined by the project brief. They also work with artists and supervisors to design systems, tools, and procedures that will enhance the faciltities workflows within this scope. Although the position is highly technical, applicants are expected to demonstrate creative abilities to seamlessly incorporate their work into a show.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years experience as an FX Technical Director in a Production envi-ronment.
• Extensive Houdini experience in a production environment.
• Experience in rigid body dynamics, particle effects, fluid simulations, shader writing and rendering with Mantra.
• Coding experience using Python a plus.
• Working knowledge of Maya and Nuke.
• Expert skills in technical and creative problem solving.
• Knowledge of GUI frameworks (PYQT) and version control systems (Git) an ad-vantage.
• Must be available for immediate start.
