UCC wishes to appoint an experienced technician to the above role. The successful candidate will be expected to oversee, maintain and restore all hardware and software of the Discipline’s video and sound equipment, Mac computer student lab, and individual computers provided for staff and students; provide technical support to both students and staff in the use of all the equipment; assist, support and facilitate lecturing staff in the delivery of practice-based film and screen media teaching; demonstrate the use of all equipment to students and supervise practical work/projects; develop the Discipline’s online presence and oversee its website and audiovisual channels.
Candidates will be expected to hold a relevant degree in multimedia or related discipline, or have been employed in a relevant technical capacity in the relevant industries. He/she must be familiar with Mac and Windows operating systems, with current versions of editing software for Mac and Windows (Final Cut Pro & Logic Pro), and with digital video making equipment.
Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

Salary scale [new entrants]: 37,773 - 47,307 pro rata. The scale quoted is subject to change. In all instances the successful appointment will be at the first point of the scale.
