Casting Intern URENGTLY Required
We have an exciting opportunity for an intern to join the Casting Team.
The internship will last for 9 months and you will be based in Ardmore Studios, Bray, Co Wicklow. There will be the possibility of a full time career in casting after the internship.
There is no payment for this position, but you will get excellent experience and training. We welcome those who are eligible for the Job Bridge Scheme or similar schemes.
About the Company
Through our casting and directory service we are involved in hundreds of projects every year from the big movies, to television and print adverts to even the unusual such as reconstructions for Crimecall and providing models for An Post stamps!
Our Members have been involved with Fair City, Penny Dreadful, Moone Boy, Ripper Street, Mrs Browns Boys D'Movie, Moonfleet, Mario Rosenstock Show and Crimecall
Hours
Hours would be 9am to 5pm, though these may be changed depending upon work requirements. Evening work and early starts may be required.
Learning:
- How to cast for TV, film and adverts
- What to look out for when casting
- Understanding the brief
- Understanding the impact that the script has on casting
- Using online casting software
- Gain knowledge of the Film Industry
Role Specification:
- Your main role will be to assist with castings for productions for film, television and commercials. This will include casting, booking artists and liaising with production companies
- Secondary roles may include supporting members of MovieExtras.ie and production companies
- There may be other requirements from time to time
- You will be working with our Casting Director and the other members of our team
Requirements:
- Flexibility in working hours
- Communication on the phone is critical
- Excellent knowledge of locations in Dublin and ability to give directions
- Excellent computer skills (web, email, word, and excel)
- Travel access to Ardmore Studios
- Internet access at home
This position may suit a trainee in the film industry or someone leaving film school.
Previous experience in the film industry is not required but would be beneficial (runner, trainee AD, etc).
References are essential.
