Windmill Lane are on the hunt for a Senior Motion Designer / art director to join our busy creative team. This is an opportunity for a person with the right mix of talent, leadership and vision to really make this role their own as we seek to progress and diversify our creative capacities.
We are looking for a candidate with the following experience
- 8+ years professional design or animation studio experience with a primary focus on motion design. Due to the changing landscape of the motion design industry we also welcome applicants who are from a freelance background also.
- Experience in designing styleframes; from layout and typography to character design
- Experience in presenting pitch work to clients.
- Proficient in Adobe CC(After Effects,Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign) Candidate is expected to use After Effects as both an animation and compositing tool.
- Proficient in C4D with a working knowledge of 3rd party plugins and renderers like X-Particles, Octane and Redshift. Working knowledge of Maya, Nuke or Houdini is a plus.
- Experience in Substance Suite or Unreal engine is desired but not essential.
Responsibilities
- We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a strong understanding of principles of design and animation in both 2D and 3D work with experience in offering best practice solutions to fit the range of briefs that we work on.
- Someone who can take a brief and run with it, who is comfortable working from the pitch stage of a project right through production to completion.
- Someone who is actively engaged with the motion design community, who is aware of emerging trends and technologies in the industry and has an informed opinion on talent we could collaborate with on projects.
- We would expect the candidate to be comfortable working with and presenting to clients, to articulate our creative process and collaborate with other creatives with a constructive and positive attitude.
