Job Title: Development Producer

indiepics are seeking an experienced and creative Development Producer to help build our slate of programming in Ireland and internationally.

Established in 1979, indiepics is a dynamic, award-winning television company specialising in high-end factual and factual entertainment programmes and formats. Our work spans from populist lifestyle and event programming, to thought-provoking documentaries and factual series.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a development or producer role with primetime broadcast credits.
  • A proven track record of developing new television programmes and securing commissions.
  • Excellent writing skills and strong editorial judgment, with the ability to turn ideas into compelling content (examples of written work will be requested)
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of broadcaster strategy and commissioning priorities – in Ireland and the UK.
  • Established relationships with commissioners and talent desirable.
  • Experience in casting, securing access to institutions/individuals, finding new on-screen talent and producing taster tapes.
  • The ability to run a broad and busy slate across various channels and genres.
  • A passion to create innovative and ambitious programming, with the ability to collaborate with third party ideas as well as originate own ideas.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, execute development plans and meet tight deadlines.
  • Encyclopaedic knowledge of the latest trends and shows here and abroad. We’re looking for a TV fan who loves watching it, as much as they love creating it.

Salary will be based on experience. This is an initial 3 month contract, commencing August 2018, with opportunity to extend.
