Brown Bag Films requires an Assistant Online Compositor (Contract)

Salary: DOE

Brown Bag Films are looking to recruit an Assistant Online Compositor. The successful applicant will have at least 2 years’ experience in a Post-production environment. Online experience preferable but not essential and training will be provided to transfer existing compositing skills to Autodesk Flame platform.

The candidate will have a thorough understanding of their role in the overall post production workflow. The assistant online operator role is a great opportunity to learn Flame/Flame Assist and expand the candidate’s online skillset. Long-term, the role presents an opportunity to progress to an online editor on an animated series.

The candidate will need to be self-reliant and organised. They will be able to multi-task and communicate clearly and precisely with Post Supervisors and co-ordinators. They will enjoy problem solving and appreciate the strength of being part of a supportive team. This role will potentially require the candidate to work outside normal business hours.

Experience in animation would be an advantage.

Duties include:

• General assisting of online editors
• QC tidy up of technical issues using a combination of compositing, painting, rotoscoping, etc.
• Conforming episodes from Premiere into Flame
• File management during online edit
• Formatting and outputting final masters to HDCAMSR tape
• Formatting and outputting final masters to broadcast file formats
• Audio track-laying
• Outputting file formats for delivery to composers, sound studio etc.
• Managing and maintaining the Flame system
• Overseeing the back-up and archiving of Flame projects
• Assisting with the offline workflow in Adobe Premiere
• Be up to date with equipment updates and workflows

 Requirements:

• 1 year compositing experience on Nuke, After Effects or Fusion
• Prior compositing experience in Flame or Smoke preferred but not essential
• Prior experience as a Flame, Smoke or Avid Online/Offline Assistant preferred
• Prior experience in QC or Digital Media would be an advantage
