Overall Responsibilities will be to:

• Ensure the effective and appropriate teaching of all courses to students in the College to the required guidelines and standards.
• Assisting with the creation of lesson plans and/or learning objectives for curriculums of each course.
• Implement various measures to assess the achievement of students, including but not limited to tests administered by the awarding bodies SQA and ITEC and student achievement reports. 
• To correct all student assignments and issue results accordingly.
• Promote clear, consistent, expectations that focus on successful outcomes for students.
• Work with the General Manager to ensure a safe and caring environment that fosters well-being and maintains respectful and responsible behaviour for each student.
• Oversee, report and act on the attendance of students while they are participating in courses at LA Creative College.
• Actively promote and pursue a commitment to the LACCA standard of excellence  in all work related matters.

This will involve:-

• Preparing the Studio/station prior to commencement of each class to ensure students and clients are informed and inspired, along with setting the standard expected from LA Creative College.
• Ensuring that the required information and preparation is conducted to teach each subject on each course assigned.
• Assessing and catering for the learning needs of each individual student.
• Addressing the class in a professional manner, enforcing rules, expected behaviour and standards throughout.
• Performing a practical demonstration at the beginning of each class.
• Providing individual student feedback at the end of each class.
• Completing written individual feedback for each student at the end of each day.
• Working with the General Manager to obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle enquiries and complaints
• Attending Graduation and Open Days as required.
• Posting images/commentary on both personal/LA Social Media accounts in order to support LA marketing activities.where required.

Person Specification:

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of tutoring in the beauty or creative arts sector or related experience in a school, college or other educational environment.
• A relevant Teaching Qualification is essential.
• An excellent knowledge and understanding of recent developments in education in beauty/creative college sector.  
• Experience of tutoring in Basic Beauty, Fashion, Catwalk, TV, Theatre and/or Film is required.
• Proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications in addition to all social media applications.
• Exceptional verbal/written communication skills and excellent organisational ability

Duration: 9 months fixed term contract from September 2015 - April 2016 inclusive.

This contract will be based on 92 fixed dates over the period of 7th September - 28th April based on course holidays and specialised curriculum days. Dates will fall between Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.30am-3.30pm.
