Award-winning Derry film A Bump Along The Way, starring Bronagh Gallagher, will travel to several towns across NI as part of Film Hub NI Collective tour, which begins in January.

Film Hub NI, part of the BFI Film Audience Network, has announce that they are working with Element Distribution to support a tour of A Bump Along The Way, as part of the Hub’s successful Collective initiative, which aims to put the very best of NI and Irish film releases in front of audiences across the country.

Making its international premiere at TIFF in September, A Bump along the Way picked up awards at Galway Film Fleadh and Irish Film London and was recently nominated for a BIFA Award. The Derry-set comedy-drama stars actress and singer Bronagh Gallagher, as a 44-year-old mother who unexpectedly becomes pregnant, much to the shame of her teenage daughter, played by rising star Lola Pettigrew.

The Northern Ireland Screen supported film was shot entirely on location in Derry and was produced by Bronagh’s sister, Louise Gallagher.

“We are so pleased to be working with Film Hub NI, and look forward to showing A Bump along the Way across 11 sites in Northern Ireland,” said Producer Louise Gallagher. “Film Hub NI do amazing work to support the film exhibition sector in NI, and we are honoured they have chosen our film for their members to screen in their communities.”

Sara Gunn-Smith from Film Hub NI added:
“We first saw this charming, funny and heartfelt film at the Belfast Film Festival in April and have been so pleased with its ongoing success and reception from audiences from Derry to Toronto since then. We are very proud to present A Bump along the Way as the biggest Collective tour to date, and hope that audiences from Bellaghy to Omagh come out to enjoy it.”
