The shoot for Tristan Heanue’s new short film ‘Ciúnas’ (Silence) will take place this weekend in Connemara, Co. Galway.
‘Ciúnas’, which was the winner of the Físín pitching competition at this years Dingle Film Festival will shoot around the Renvyle area on Saturday & Sunday, November 24/25th.
The Irish language short film, which follows a couple embarking on a journey in the midst of a family crisis will star Gary Lydon (‘The Guard’, ‘Calvary’, ‘Pure Mule’, ‘The Clinic’) Ally Ní Chiaráin (‘The drummer & the keeper’, ‘Michael Inside’) and rising star Hazel Doupe (‘Float like a butterfly’, ‘Michael Inside’, ‘Calm with horses’). Speaking with IFTN, Writer Tristan Heanue told the website:
“I’m really excited to finally start production on this film. It has taken a while for all the bits to fall into place but I am thrilled with the cast that we have managed to put together. I’ve been a fan of Gary Lydon’s work for many years and likewise with Ally Ni Chiarain and Hazel Doupe is just an incredible talent. I’m lucky enough to have an amazing crew behind me too and along with the support from Fisin & the Dingle Film Festival we are determined to make something special.”
Heanue will once again team up with Cinematographer Narayan Van Maele (‘Gutland’, ‘Gridlock’) with camera equipment being supplied by Vast Valley Ltd as part of the competition win.
The film is scheduled for a premiere in March at the 2019 Dingle Film Festival.
