IFB to Review Screenplay Development Scheme, following 25% Increase in Applications
11 Apr 2017 : Katie McNeice
The Irish Film Board have reported the increase in 2016 tops other significant increases in previous years and intend to innovate the scheme for writer/director applications.

The changes will be made with the intention of improving support to emerging and established Irish writers and directors in the coming years. To this end the IFB have been consulting with the Writers Guild of Ireland and the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland and will continue that consultation process going forward.

An official announcement on the changes to policy will be made in Q3 2017, with the board currently not accepting applications for the coming months in order to tackle a backlog of applications.

Other schemes for Project Development, Animation Development, International Development, Documentary Development and International Television Drama Development will remain open to applications on the published deadlines.
