In today’s Daily Bite news that international film productions in Abu Dhabi are to be offered a huge tax incentive; China’s $2.6bn move in its bid to become a major international player in the film industry and the first look at the new James Bond trailer.

Abu Dhabi to offer tax incentives to international filmmakers…. Film and TV shows shot in Abu Dhabi will soon qualify for a 30 per cent tax subsidy under an initiative that is expected to save filmmakers millions in production costs. The Abu Dhabi Film Commission and TwoFour54’s Wayne Borg, who oversees the ADFC, made the announcement in Cannes and expects the move to lead to a “30 to 50 per cent boost” in productions in the region by next year. Recent blockbusters shot in the country include ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’.

China’s Wanda becomes world's biggest cinema owner….. Variety are reporting on China's growing power in the international film industry after Chinese estate agents Wanda bought US cinema chain AMC Entertainment for $2.6bn. The move is the largest ever purchase of a US company by a Chinese corporate.

BFI London Film Festival announces revamp…. The BFI London Film Festival has announced a number of changes that will see it add seven new programme categories in a bid to attract new audiences. The October 10 to 25 festival will now split its official competition into three sections. They will be divided into the best film award; the first feature competition and the documentary section award. The seven new programme categories will be centered around the themes of love, adrenalin, challenge, debate, cult, journeys and laughter. Clare Stewart has also been announced as the BFI's new director of exhibitions and festivals.

If you watch one trailer today… Here’s the first look at the new James Bond movie ‘Skyfall,’ which stars Daniel Craig and will be released this October.
