EURIMAGES
EURIMAGES is a programme of the European Commission. EURIMAGES provides production finance for European co-productions. It is complicated finance to access but can provide between 10 -12% of the production budget of qualifying films.
Ireland has participated in EURIMAGES since 1992 and since the U.K. dropped out is the only English language nation in the scheme. Irish projects have received £1.5 million in production finance from the scheme.
Films such as Love and Rage, The Tale of Sweety Barrett, Last of the High Kings, and A Further Gesture have received significant Eurimages production finance investments. Simon Perry, the Irish Film Board's Chief Executive, is Ireland's representative on the Eurimages Board.
