Made in 1982 and marking Neil Jordan's feature film debut, Angel follows a troubled saxophonists search for the murderer of a young girl. Set in the border counties of Ireland the film is set against the backdrop of the ongoing Irish Troubles. Stephen Rea looking suitably glum as the tortured saxophonist begins his career as Jordan's on screen doppelganger in this film.
