Young Audience Award, San Sebastian 1998

An amusing portrayal of a large inner city Dublin family during the sixties.

Following the untimely death of her husband, Agnes is left destitute with seven children under fifteen to look after. She sets up a vegetable stall beside her bosom friend Marion and utilizes her inner strength to cope with life, indeed things are somewhat easier for her in the absence of her drunken husband.
