Element Pictures Acquire Cinemobile
10 Jul 2017 : Deirdre Hopkins
Currently undergoing refurbishment, this much loved and unique venue will launch in Summer 2017, bringing a selection of engaging films, schools programming and an exciting and innovative corporate hire experience to audiences all over Ireland.

The Cinemobile played a unique and important role in the film sector in Ireland since its establishment as a Millennium project in 2000.  Cinemobile had previously brought the mobile cinema experience to community projects, festivals and school children throughout the island of Ireland for sixteen years.

In a statement issued to IFTN last July, the board of the Cinemobile announced that the service would no longer continue in business “despite the best efforts of the Directors and staff, and significant success in boosting commercial revenue, it has been impossible to make up the deficit caused in recent years by the gradual erosion of Cinemobile’s core public funding.”
