SXSW to mark World Premiere of ‘Song of Granite’ from Pat Collins

The feature project examining the life of traditional Irish singer Joe Heaney has been selected for the 24 Beats Per Second stream at the upcoming festival, which runs from March 10th-19th.

‘Song of Granite’ is produced by Alan Maher and Jessie Fisk of Marcie Films and Martin Paul-Hus at Amerique Films.

The project blends traditional narrative with documentary, celebrating the music of Joe Heaney while also exploring his life.

At various intervals of Heaney’s life in the project, he is portrayed by Macdara Ó Fátharta (Leap Year), Michael O'Chonfhlaola, and Colm Seoighe (Black 47).

The SXSW Film Festival will open with the premiere of ‘Song to Song’ from Terrence Malick which stars Irish talent Michael Fassbender alongside Ryan Gosling and Natalie Portman.
