The Irish director’s second feature is set to film predominantly in Loftus Hall, Co. Wexford, following his award-winning debut with ‘Let Us Prey’ in 2014.
Loftus Hall is known as one of the most haunted houses in Ireland and regularly opens to the public for paranormal tours. ‘The Lodgers’ will also shoot in the surrounding area on Hook Peninsula.
Directed by Brian O’Malley (Let Us Prey) from a script by David Turpin, the film stars Irish talents David Bradley (Harry Potter) and Moe Dunford (Patrick’s Day).
Also set to star are UK actors Eugene Simon (Game of Thrones) and Bill Milner (Anthropoid), and Spanish talent Charlotte Vega (Velvet).
Vega and Milner lead the cast as cursed siblings who are forced to stay in a large estate home inherited from their parents. When a young man falls in love with the sister and attempts to free her, a deadly chain of events begin to unfold.
Ruth Treacy and Julianne Forde of Tailored Films are producing, with the project having received €600,000 in Production funding from the Irish Film Board in Q2 2016.
