‘Easter Sixteen’ Eyes January 09 Shoot
16 Jul 2008 :
Ian Hart to star
Irish actor Jason Barry (Titanic, Whiskey Echo) is set to direct his debut feature ‘Easter Sixteen’ on location in Ireland in January 2009, with UK actors Ian Hart (Dirt, Finding Neverland), Tony Curran (Underworld: Evolution, The Good German) and Irish actor Glen Barry (Bog Bodies, Van Wilder 2) attached to star.

‘Easter Sixteen’ is written by Belfast scriptwriter Brendan Foley (Johnny Was, Bog Bodies), and Shelly Goldstein (Down to Earth, JoJos Circus) and tells the story of the 1916 Irish uprising. Kevin Hannigan (Ocean’s Eleven, The Black Dahlia) is the films special effects coordinator.

The $20 million budget pic will shoot for nine weeks on location in Dublin and is the first project to be produced by Barry and his wife Nicola Charles Barry’s production company Marathon Pictures LA, after their project ‘Mineville’ was put on hold due to ongoing script revisions. Brendan Foley will also produce.

Casting director Maureen Hughes (Dorothy Mills, Once) is currently casting the film, with the line-up expected to be announced in mid-August.
