Official Trailer and Irish release date announced for Rose Plays Julie

The psychological thriller from directors Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor (Further Beyond; Mister John), releases in Ireland on 15th May.

During a term studying animal euthanasia, veterinary student Rose (Ann Skelly) decides to contact Ellen (Orla Brady), the birth mother who gave her up for adoption. But Ellen, who is now a successful London-based actress, doesn’t want to know. Undeterred, Rose will not be ignored and curiosity leads her to discoveries that shake the fragile identity she has built for herself. Instead of allowing the trauma to affect her emotionally, she goes off on a mission to confront the man who may be her father, with jaw-dropping consequences.

Rose Plays Juliereceived its World Premiere in London at the BFI London Film Festival in October. The Irish/UK co-production, is produced by Samson Films and Desperate Optimists, and stars Ann Skelly (Kissing Candice; Death and Nightingales), Aiden Gillen (Game of ThronesBohemian Rhapsody) and Orla Brady (Star Trek: PicardA Girl from Mogadishu). 

The film is set for release in Ireland on 15thMay, and will follow shortly in the UK.
