Sony’s losses rise to $312m… Sony Corporation has today seen its losses widen to $312m despites sales rising by 1.4 per cent to $19.2bn. Sony Pictures sales also rose 6.2 per cent to $1.9bn following strong performances by ‘Men in Black 3’. However, the film posted a $62m loss on higher marketing expenses for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, released at the end of June, reports Variety.
EU adds €14m to the UK audiovisual industry…The European Union's Media Program provided €14m in funding to the UK’s audiovisual industry last year.
A total of 404 UK companies have received Media funding since 2001, reports Variety.
