New Year Makeover for The Element
12 Mar 2008 :
Dublin-based post-production house The Element has celebrated its tenth year of business with a major company overhaul, including the installation of new technology, a makeover of its premises and a brand new company logo.

Expanding its technology facilities, the company has installed a high definition Flame from AutoDesk and a new Avid Adrenaline, allowing for growth in The Element’s broadcast programming sector. The premises already houses three offline/online suites, while the computer graphics division is fitted with the latest version of Softimage XSI, Maya and numerous After Effects stations.

“The Avid DS gives clients the power to composite, grade and edit longer format programmes quickly and efficiently, while its speed allows clients to make creative decisions that would otherwise take too long to achieve,” said Diarmuid Kelly, Element’s Head of Post-Production.

The Element Post Production's experienced graphics department has worked with prominent directors and advertising creatives over the years, bringing major campaigns to our television screens.

“Fundamentally the operators are the artists who bring the creative ideas to life,” continued Kelly. “The Element’s focus on design is crucial. Technology is only as good as the operators driving it.”

Bernard Rogan, Managing Director of The Element, sees these technological changes as crucial in satisfying the increasing demands of the current media market, while also helping the company attract new Irish and international business.

“Our clients demand a combination of speed and creativity,” he said. “They invest a lot of time and energy developing their ideas and in turn, deserve to see them brought to life using the best technology and reaping the best possible results.”

The Element has also given their Fitzwilliam Square premises an overhaul. The new image combines high-tech modern design and classic Georgian architecture, while maintaining many of the buildings original features to give a relaxed air of creativity.

“We wanted to create a high function building with a lounge style atmosphere but with design at the forefront,” said Chriona O’Sullivan Facility Manager at The Element. “We feel it allows clients to create, present and showcase their ideas using our experienced in online and offline team. Our priority when taking on a job is to deliver the best possible product in the fastest time and at the most competitive cost.”

Priding itself on its service, The Element aims to provide comfortable and friendly surroundings for its clients. From the beginning of each project to the end, The Element wishes to create a relaxed, helpful and accommodating atmosphere for each and every one of its clients.

“It’s a given that clients in the longer format programming spend more time in the offline suites and therefore, comfort is a major factor,” says O’Sullivan. “If you’re spending three to four weeks at a time in one room you want a feeling of space and comfort.”

As a full service facility, The Element also offers its clients a complete in house post-production service including electronic delivery of finished commercials right through to DVD production, duplication and compression for mpeg and uploading to and from FTP.

“The minute a client steps through the door they have access to a complete television facility service”, adds Chriona. “We treat all projects with the same dedication and enthusiasm, and guarantee a speedy delivery everytime”.

To revamp their corporate image, the company employed the creative services of Dublin design agency Dynamo, who designed a new Element company logo.

The Element's recent credits include seven part series ‘The Investigators’, for New Decade, ‘The Best of the Best: 50 Years of Irish Sport’ for Paradise Pictures, ‘The Ultimate Guide’, a six Part Series for Independent Pictures and ‘House Hunters in the Sun Revisited’ for Coco Television.
