World 2000 Entertainment’s ‘The Blackwater Lightship’ has won the Golden Nymph award for Best Direction and the Prix SIGNIS award at the 44th Monte Carlo Television Festival.

The movie stars three-time Academy Award nominee Angela Lansbury (Gaslight, The

Picture of Dorian Gray, The Manchurian Candidate) and two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest (Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets Over Broadway) and was shot on location in Ireland at the end of 2003.

Director John Erman was in Monte Carlo to pick up his award and was joined by World 2000’s producer Morgan O’Sullivan and actress Dianne Wiest in the celebrations for the film. ‘The Blackwater Lightship’ was also honored with the Prix SIGNIS award for its “promotion of better understanding between peoples.” The festival describes it as an “honest story of reconciliation amongst three generations of women brought together around the final agony of their brother/son/grandson dying of AIDS.”

The film was shown on CBS television in February and has received critical acclaim in the United States.
