Following their presentation at the Oscars together on Sunday night, Deadline has revealed that Academy Award nominated actors Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield are due to star in the upcoming StudioCanal project, We Live In Time.
According to Deadline, both actors are in negotiations with the studio to board the project, which will be directed by Irish BAFTA winning director John Crowley and written by Nick Payne.
Details about the film’s plot are being concealed other than it being described as a funny, deeply moving and immersive love story. The script is said to have been developed by StudioCanal and will see Sunny March produce the film, with plans to shoot later this year.
StudioCanal executives Ron Halpern (EVP global production) and Joe Naftalin (SVP global production) will oversee the production on the studio’s behalf.
Pugh is off the back of one busy year and heading into another, having recently starred in Don’t Worry Darling and The Wonder, and starring in upcoming films such as Oppenheimer and Dune Part Two, and Marvel Studio’s Thunderbolts. Andrew Garfield also appeared in a recent Marvel Studios film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and received an Oscar nomination for his performance as Andrew Larson in Tick… Tick… Boom!
Director John Crowley is known for his BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated film Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan and Domhnall Gleeson, as well as his film Intermission, which boasts an ensemble cast of well-known Irish actors such as Cillian Murphy, Colin Farrell, and Kerry Condon among others. He also directed an episode of Modern Love, a romantic comedy anthology TV series developed by John Carney.
