Wolf producer Jessie Fisk selected as 2022's Irish Producer on the Move

Irish producer Jessie Fisk has been selected by European Film Promotion (EFP) as Ireland’s Producer on the Move for 2022.

Twenty of the most promising, up-and-coming European producers have been selected to take part in EFP’s high-profile hybrid promotion and networking platform before and during the Cannes Film Festival (May 17 - 28, 2022).

"I'm truly honoured to be selected as Producer on the Move this year,” said producer, Jessie Fisk. “Not only will I be surrounded by such exciting European producing talent for the programme but to be part of the alumni who have previously participated representing Ireland makes me incredibly proud.”

“I look forward to further growing my European network and continuing to produce thought-provoking European cinema. I also would like to express my gratitude to Screen Ireland for their nomination and support to make this happen," added Fisk.

Fisk and the 19 other selectec producers will take part in a tailor-made hybrid programme in order to foster international co-productions, intensify the exchange of experiences and help create new professional networks. Read our interview with Jessie Fisk on Producing.

The pre-Festival online programme, which started yesterday and runs until 5 May, includes 1:1 speed meetings, roundtables and pitching sessions. Producers will then meet personally during the Cannes Film Festival (May 19 - 23) and take part in a five-day on-site programme including case studies, social events and an extensive promotional campaign via the international trade magazines.

Jessie Fisk is most recently know for Irish-Polish co-production Wolf starring George MacKay (1917) and Lily Rose Depp (Voyagers). The film directed by Nathalie Biancheri under their production banner Feline Films, which was established by Fisk and Biancheri in 2018. Wolf made its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year.

Fisk is currently working on the development of new feature projects by Biancheri and Mark Noonan. Prior to this, Fisk’s first feature narrative as lead producer was Pat Collins’ Song of Granite, which premiered at SXSW (2017) and was chosen as Ireland’s foreign language Oscar entry.

Previous Irish roducers on the Move include Ruth Treacy (The Lodgers), John Wallace (Rialto), Cormac Fox (Animals), Alan Maher (Song of Granite), Katie Holly (Vita & Virginia), John Keville and Conor Barry (The Hole in the Ground), Juliette Bonass (A Date for Mad Mary), Rebecca O’Flanagan (Papi Chulo), and Macdara Kelleher (Black '47).

The 20 producers from 20 different countries who have been selected for the programme are: Johannes Schubert (Austria), Maarten Schmidt (Belgium), Katya Trichkova (Bulgaria), Janine Teerling (Cyprus), Vladimír Lhoták (Czech Republic), Evelin Penttilä (Estonia), Judith Lou Lévy (France), Ketie Danelia (Georgia), Alexander Wadouh (Germany), Ioanna Bolomyti (Greece), Jessie Fisk (Ireland), Alessandro Amato (Italy), Derk-Jan Warrink  (The Netherlands), Marija Dimitrova (North Macedonia), Andrea Berentsen Ottmar (Norway), Kuba Kosma (Poland), Diana Păroiu (Romania), Jakub Viktorín (Slovak Republic), Felipe Lage Coro (Spain) and Stefan Eichenberger (Switzerland).

EFP Producers On The Move is supported by Creative Europe - the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, Eurimages, Festival Scope, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Maan Rental and TheGreenShot, as well as the participating national film promotion institutes from the Producers on the Move’s countries including Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland.
