Production sound mixer Ronan Hill has just won the TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) award for outstanding creative achievement (Television Sound Production) for the second year running in recognition of his work on ‘Game of Thrones’ season four.
The awards presentation took place at the NAMM show Anaheim Convention Centre, California on Saturday, January 24th.
Speaking to IFTN about the win, Ronan said: ‘It’s great to win the TEC award for the second year in a row. It’s a fantastic ceremony that I unfortunately didn’t get to attend this year but I was delighted when I found out we won at 4.30am on Saturday night!’
Ronan also has also just received his fourth consecutive Cinema Audio Society (CAS) award nomination for outstanding achievement in sound mixing for the ‘Game of Thrones’ season four episode, ‘The Children’ and he plans to attend the February 14th ceremony.
Ronan previously won the CAS Award last year for ‘Game of Thrones’ season three episode ‘The Rains of Castamere’
Hill’s work on the show has also been recognized over the past few years at the Primetime Emmy Awards, with the sound mixer garnering a nomination last year for the ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season four episode ‘The Watchers On The Wall’, after previously winning the Primetime Emmy Award for his work on the season two episode ‘Blackwater’.
